Not sure if this has been a topic already (I'm still pretty new here) but I figured I'd start a thread - I've been having fun answering other topics in this forum. What pets do you own in real life? Are there other types of animals you'd be interested in owning as well?

I have a Newfoundland dog (favorite breed) named Onslow, and two cats -- a gray Persian named Raja and a cream/white domestic shorthair named Chester. I'd also love to own chickens someday. Though I'll probably never own horses I do like imagine owning a Percheron or Belgian :)

I have a black rescue cat named Frey.

We had several different species at home when I was a kid, I think I may want to have rats again in the future, cause they're super cute and smart (maybe not simultaneously with the cat tho).

My cat is a beautiful long haired black cat named Puff. She's had a couple homes, and is a senior (as am I). I didn't name her Puff and when I got her 3 years ago (from a friend who gave her up for me after I fell in love with her) I thought it was a goofy name. However, it truly suits her. In spite of being a senior, she runs around like a kitten. She's definitely my favorite person and my daily companion.

I LOVE black cats, she's not my first. I might like to have a bird someday, except that caged birds bother me, and I don't have the space for both a cat and a bird. I think hand raised cockatoos are quite special, but expensive and need more care than I can give (or afford).

I want chickens too! And ducks, and maybe some guinea fowl or quail or something else fun like that. In my current township we could only have two chickens, and I know they wouldn't do well with that few so we haven't gotten any. Hopefully we can move in the next few years to somewhere with more land where I can get all the poultry and goats my heart desires.

I have three kitties, a russian blue named Dexter that I got from one of my best friends, and a pair of rescued orange brothers, Hunter and Stuart. I refer to them as the Wolfpack, and they are very good boys.

My oldest is Sita. She's 12 years old and I've had her since she was 6 months old. She's my child and the love of my life. I don't know what I'll do with out her. She's been there for everything. She's my favorite thing. She is a Tonkinese

Then I have one that has only been in he family since October. She's Saimese/SnowShoe mix. Shes silly and precious. And quickly pulling at my heart strings <3 Not sure how old she is as she was a rescue from my coworkers house. She found her on the road and fed her multiple times and got her trusting and now shes the sweetest loveable cat

Toboe My wonderful yellow muttdog. About 60 lbs, 13 years old. Best friend in the world. Kaydith & Umbra My rescue kitties. Kaydith is all grey and 5 years old, Umbra is all black and one year old. Lilikoi My lovely indoor duckie. She is a two year old welsh harlequin. Hyacinth My adopted light brahma hen. Blind but very sweet. 3 years old. 9 leopard geckos: Rix Maddi, Carrot, Peppercorn, Kohlrabi, Crouton, Kale, Lentil, Clove & Celery A bunch of fish, including a Frontosa(Jubbles), 3 bettas(Rakdos, Dibs & Dabs), a khuli loach(Dragon), a school of ember tetras, a school of mosquito rasboras, some praecox rainbows, a badis badis, a mountain minnow, a goldfish(rescued feederfish) pond, and one emperor tetra that was born in my house. And yes, everyone is split up so that they have plenty of space and are completely compatible (or alone if not). I also foster. I am currently fostering two cats that I raised from birth after their mother died in labor. At the end of the month they're getting fixed, then soon to be adopted, hopefully together. I named them Dillinger & Calamity Jane. I am also fostering a young kitten that was a starving stray rescued off the streets. He has made great progress and regained his health, but I am soon bringing in a "borrowed" kitten from another foster, a friendly one his own age to help him come out of his shell. One of the rescuers named him Kato. Also, I raised six chicks on my parents' behalf, because I want them to experience friendly chickens. They've always had hens, but never as friends. I've spent nearly a year preparing my family for these new arrivals, and within a few months they'll be going to their new home. Every one is a gem, they are going to blow my folks away. Their names are Lotus, Cosmo, Dottie, Rodan, Laurel, and Aulwyn.
Just recently I rescued a baby duck that was rejected by a feed store because it has a health condition. It's not life threatening and the baby is doing fine. Thankfully I have Hyacinth to help with babysitting. I raised Lilikoi by myself but it's nice to have help, especially while I'm taking care of all these fosters at this moment.

[Edit] I would actually highly recommend having only two. They will get a lot more attention from you, be a lot easier to take care of and they will bond together and with you much more strongly than typical backyard chickens. In fact, the only reason two is better than one is because they'll keep each other company while you're away during the day. Small flocks rock.

Ah, also figured I'd toss in one last thing. My dream is to have a sanctuary for all animals. In my mind I imagine an enormous place, with room for big animals too, like pigs, cows, sheep, turkeys, everything.

Hyper Tails

We have a black cat named Twilight who is crazy for a certain off-brand of canned cat food called Paws. She loves the Pate version of it. She scarfs it down. She lost some weight, so we got her checked out and she has hyperthyroidism. She is hopefully going to gain some weight from the food we have been giving her lately We really worry about her. She is definitely my husband's best friend. She doesn't really think much of me, but I don't care. I still love her because she takes good care of my hubby. When he's not doing well, she's always there for him. She was his cat coming into the relationship. She was with him for 8 years before I ever came into the picture.

We also have a tabby and white gorgeous kitty that lives with my parents because our landlord is anal and won't let us have more than one pet. He has some habits that are a bit strange, but he is a good cat, for the most part. He was born on 4/4/04, so he will be 16 on the 4th. He's getting up there in age but other than arthritis, he seems pretty healthy. He is kinda fat, but he's cute. I just love snuggling him when I go visit. He doesn't always like it, but I pick him up and rock him. He actually likes being rocked because I did it when he was a tiny baby. Such a character. I miss him right now. I don't know when I will be able to see him. I hope he is doing well and not causing too much trouble.

Owned by a jet-black cat named Twilight! Meow!

I have a full house! Hahaha, I've only gone about 1 year of my life not having a pet - so lonely.

I currently have 5 dogs. Prince is my 13yr bichon frise (small poodle-like dog, he's white), I've had him about 6 years. He has no teeth so his tongue hangs out 100% of the time. He is such a sweet boy and screams like an exotic bird when he's hungry. Never heard anything like it. Meadow is my 5yr border collie/spaniel mix, she's all black besides a white chest and white toe tuffs. It's hard to explain what she looks like but she's about 35lbs, medium length hair and a verrrry sweet face. she's like a ninja and likes to hide in dark spaces because you can hardly see her! She's a sweet, sweet dog and I got her from the shelter about 4 years ago. Dougie is my 11yr old golden retriever/German shepherd mix. I acquired him when I met my now husband about 3 years ago, He's one of the most well behaved dogs I've ever met. Such a good boy. He looks like a auburn German shepherd. Kitsune (keet-zoo-nay - it's Japanese and it's the Fox Spirit) But we just call her Kitsu. I got her about 2-2.5 years ago when a dog training client of mine couldn't handle her anymore. Plus her big dog kept trying to kill her because of her spastic hyperactivity. She is about 18lbs and is black/tan./white. Very unique looking - My client/friend found her near her ranch as a puppy, momma had passed and she said that was a mini Australian shepherd - she definitely looks like part chihuahua though. We have gotten her behavior issues pretty much fixed and even with her high energy she is a very loving and sweet dog. Little Bit is a shih tzu/poodle mix... She's really my mother-in-laws dog but I take care of her as well. My husbands friend just found her crossing a busy street and brought her home, she's pretty much been my mother-in-law's ever since haha! She's black/gray with curly hair & a short face.

I have two Calico short hair cats that I got also when I met my husband. He wasn't very good at naming them LOL so their names are Cali (... for calico) and ..... .... schnookums...... lol, she was born without a tail! They are outdoor cats, their mom was a stray and left after they were born but they stayed here. I've owned many cats in my life so far and these are the best cats I've ever met. SO sweet and funny. Little predators haha

I also have 7 chickens. Cream is a white silkie Cookie is a black silkie (get it? .... cookie & cream...? haha..) Dorothy is a barred rock (black and white stripe/speckle) Brittney is a golden laced wyandotte (very pretty!) Esther is an easter egger (I think she might have australorp in her because her feather shimmer green/purple) Mocha is an easter egger too but she's brown Buttons is an Americana (fluffy cheeked brown baby) We may raise more chicks this year! I would love a whitting true blue and some australorps, sexlinks -- I could go on.

I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllly love ferrets and I used to own them as a teenager. If I had the money/space I would get two in a heartbeat. I also am researching husbandry for many different reptiles. I love bearded dragons and will one day have one in a 100gal bio-active terrarium. Leopard geckos are so stinkin' cute I would love one as well. IF I was ever rich I would soooooo get a chinese water dragon. Gorgeous. I would also love an aquarium someday. or 10... ya'know

- Wow! that's amazing that you're able to take care of so many lucky animals! I wish I had the space for fosters or I would definitely do that. It's SO PACKED where I am right now it's insane. I would love to see pictures of your leopard gecko babies!

You should definitely get chickens when you can! They're amazing :)

It is so interesting reading about everyone's pets! This is a great topic!

Right now I only have 1 dog. His name is Brax and he is a 4 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We are getting another Cavalier soon. I have had probably 15 cats throughout my life. Right now my parents have 3 cats (which are still sort of mine?) Their names are Boots, Honey, and Susie.

In the future I'd like to have cats again. I'd also like to own a land snail. I fantasize about a Giant African Land Snail but, sadly, they are illegal in a lot of places. So, I will probably settle for a smaller species although I need to do more research. Aquatic snails seem to be much more easy to find in my experience.

I also love rodents and would love to have a hamster, guinea pig, rat, or ferret in the future.

I have three dogs, three frogs, a toad, a turtle, a gecko and eight snakes. Mochi, Miso and Matcha are our dogs. Mochi and Miso are chihuahua mixes, and Matcha is a red heeler mix of some sort, they were all rescues so we have no idea of breeding other than looks.

Marion, Jezebel Jack and Gazpacho are our frogs. Merry is a White's Tree frog, she's getting so fat! X3 Jezebel is a Green Lipped Tree frog, and he's very shy unless you're listening to P!nk or watching Xena: Warrior Princess and he croaks up a storm. Gazpacho is our grumpy and annoyingly stubborn Tomato Frog. S/He has injuries on both his eyes from wedging himself under a piece of wood in his enclosure. I say s/he because he doesn't call, which makes him more likely to be female, but most of my animals are 'he' until proven otherwise.

Hedwig is our toad. He's a native species here that someone just.. didn't want anymore. He is Hedwig because.... he's an angry inch XD

Billy Bones is our turtle, he's a native wild caught species here that the Herpetological Society rescued because his shell was severely damaged and he has only three feet, his front right foot is missing from a previous injury.

Frodo is our gecko. He is missing all his toes on his front feet from bad, bad previous owners. He's just a leopard gecko, and thus not all that interesting, but he is my first gecko so I adore him.

AND SNAKES Long John is a 'fancy' normal(He has high contrast yellows) cornsnake, we thing he is actually a girl because next to his sibling he's huge. When we first got him, he was a hatchling, and he was my first snake so he's special to me. Hexxus is an Ultramel Cornsnake, which just means his colours are very stark, vibrant and very orange/red.He's much smaller than Long John so he's probably a boy. He is also very very spazzy, he bluff striked me when I took him out earlier. He is a spicy noodle. Wadsworth is a high yellow King Snake. He's still young, but his temperament is amazing for a King. He has cartoon eyes :3 Waddles is most likely a boy but we're not sure. Frank-N-Furter is an adult Snow cornsnake, we got him because he was lonely and depressed since his mate was sold. He is the spazziest cornsnake I've ever held. He's also very voracious. He doesn't even constrict his food before he starts eating it anymore. Gomez is a young normal ball python. He's very sweet and he's my spouses baby. If he hears their voice, he will come up to the side of his enclosure and boop the side until we take him out. He has scars on his nose from being so stressed out from the previous idiot I mean owner that had him. Forte is my baby, she's a Pastel Lesser Ball Python. She was another rescue from an idiot that didn't care about her. This lady had my baby for three years and never named her... ugh. She's so sweet but still very nervous and cautious. We think she's gravid(full of eggs), my poor baby.. Next is Ziggy, he's a rough green tree snake. We got him because the previous owner didn't want to take care of him anymore. He's like almost a foot and a half long, but at the thickest part of his body is the size of a pencil. He eats bugs and small fish. Last but not least, is Drogo. He's an Anery BCI Boa. He's so amazing. He has a moustache and a goatee. He's still a baby, but he is so pretty and he's the most recent snake we've gotten. I love how different his face is from the Balls and Corns. We plan on getting him a snow mate, because he's het snow, so most of his babies would be snow as well. We plan on naming her Dany(Daenerys)

We also had a guinea pig named Gambit, I loved that fat butt, but he lives with my parents now. Miso kept eating his hay and it gave her extreme hives.

If the theme of most of our snakes sounds familiar, they're names of Tim Curry characters!! He is my favourite actor. Aside from Drogo and Ziggy of course. Long John is from Muppet Treasure Island, Hexxus is Fern Gully, Wadsworth is from Clue, Gomez is from Addam's Family Vacation(look it up, he did play Gomez) Forte was his character on the Beauty and the Beast Christmas special where he played an organ, Frank is Rocky Horror Picture Show. Marion and Jezebel Jack were two of his characters as well. Marion Finster was his character on Will and Grace, and Jezebel Jack was a character from Pirates on the Plain. Ziggy is for Ziggy Stardust, Billy Bones is Billy Connolly on Muppet Treasure Island(the spots where his shell was damaged looked like bones) Gazpacho is a tomato soup XD Frodo is because... Frodo got his finger bitten off XD

Hey everyone, I'm new to Gold Account but saw this topic and had to chime in....

we have 2 cats , one is a male black maine coone named Ashe and one is a female calico named Bella

We have 2 snakes , a spider ball python named Sylvanas and an albino ball python named Allie ( we used to have a boa named Arthas but we rehomed him a while back)

And we have 12 bearded dragons ( yes, it is an addiction)

We have our girls, Spunky and Cinderella

our boys, Rocco, Gummy, Stubbie, Emoji, Big D, Tater Tot, Tiny, Rusty, Thor and our baby we just got , not sure if male or female but named it Loki

Emoji is a rescue, his former owner didn't take care of him, he's missing all 4 feet, 2 legs are gone, 1 leg is half there, and one leg is 3/4ths there and his tail is half gone, but he is amazing <3

Hades just turned a year old. She is my husband's baby kitty and very much his little minion.

Millie is our newest and oldest addition. We adopted her last February. She is 10 years old. She is an American Bulldog/Pit mix. She loves to play fetch and is very loyal.

Had to put my boy Boots down a few weeks ago, he was sick and not getting any better. It was very hard. He was 13. He was an American shorthair cat, tuxedo color.

The house is just too quiet now that he's gone, so my grandparents and I are looking for another kitty to adopt and love. So far no luck right now.

I have 1 pup named Cuddles, 2 snakes names flotsam and Jetsam, and 1 rabbit named RainbowRider.

The story about my rabbit is kinda weird, my daughter had found her in our backyard the day were moving. On her underbelly was a mark that looked like a rainbow, she was barely the size of a game cube back then. Now she's kinda huge and looks like she's riding a rainbow, do my daughter named her RainbowRider. I even named a pet on here after her.
